Ignite Phoenix

swirly fire

Does Ignite Phoenix have something to do with setting Phoenix on fire? Not really but Ignite 2 was a fun set of micro-presentations on topics people felt strongly about held at Jobbing.com center 10/28/2008. And some were just plain funny!   I had a great time listening to some very passionate people talk about what mattered to them.

Oreilly media started "Ignite" as a set of free technology presentations where technologist would get together and give five minute presentations on topics of interest to the presenters.   Ignite Phoenix is wide open in its topic choices and its primary goal is to promote creativity and networking in Phoenix.

Not interested in what one presenter has to say?  Well in 5 minutes there will another presentation on something completely different.  I found the whole concept to be really cool and I was introduced to Ignite by another group I attend PhoenixDIY.  Ignite 2 the second Ignite meeting in Phoenix covered diverse topics from the environmental "raising farm animals in your back yard", to the serious "drug re-habilitation using art", to the silly "Surviving the Next Zombie Uprising".

Check out the UStream recording. Especially the “Surviving the Next Zombie Uprising” presentation in the 1st set of the presentations.

And if you are a podcaster PodCamp is happening this weekend at UAT in Tempe.  Meet fellow podcasters and learn some more about new digital media broadcasting.   See you there.
